FEDERAL SPECIFICATION SODIUM POLYPHOSPHATES, TECHNICAL
Inactive for new design after 29 November 2001.
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this federal specification by all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers three types and three forms of sodium polyphosphates
(see 6.1).
1.2 Classification. Sodium polyphosphates shall be of the following types and forms.
1.2.1 Type. The type of sodium polyphosphates shall be as specified (see 6.2(b)).
Type I - Sodium tetraphosphate
Type II - Sodium hexametaphosphate
Type III - Sodium tripolyphosphate
1.2.2 Forms. The form of the sodium polyphosphates shall be as specified (see 6.2(c)).
Form 1 - Powder
Form 2 - Granular (crushed) Form 3 - Plate
